Pre-Dive Housing Integrity Test

Integrated Vacuum System

AOI's Vacuum Analyzation and Wet Detection System is included already installed on the housing. The Vacuum system lets you complete a dry test of the housing's integrity before getting into the water. Also included is a Vacuum Pump and a spare O-Ring for the Vacuum Valve.

Strobe Triggering

Built-in Support for Native Camera Flash

There is space in the housing to use the Camera's built in pop-up flash to trigger your strobes via the fibre optic ports on the front of the housing. We recommend pairing with the AOI Q1 Ultra Compact Strobe. The Q1 Strobes are included as part of the R50 Passion Combo Set.

AOI make a series of viewfinders which give you a better view of the camera's LCD or viewfinder.

The AOI UMG-01 LCD Magnifier includes dioptric adjustment giving you the ability to judge the LCD image on your camera with greater precision.

If you are shooting Macro and Supermacro we highly recommend UMG-05 90° viewfinder which lets you get the camera housing nice and low for the perfect angle (UMG-5 does not include dioptric adjustment).

WHICH WET LENS SHOULD I PAIR WITH THE AOI Canon R50 Waterproof Housing?

The magic of the wet lenses is their tremendous versatility, paired with outstanding in-water performance. Both macro and super wide angle interchangeable optics can be available to the underwater photographer on the same dive.

We recommend using AOI's Quick Release System to allow for easy removal and replacement of the Lenses underwater.

The AOI UWL-09 Pro is AOI's premium Wide-Angle Wet Lens. Featuring up to 130° diagonal field of view at 28mm - wider than most traditional wide-angle lenses behind a dome port. Multiple glass elements minimise distortion offering a sharp image even when zoomed in and allowing the camera to focus right in front of the lens.

The superior optics of this lens compared to the UWL-09 are recommended for high resolution sensor cameras like the Sony A7 series but do come with additional weight.

The AOI UWL-09 provides up to 130° diagonal field of view at 28mm (Full frame equivalent) - wider than most traditional wide-angle lenses behind a dome port. Multiple glass elements minimise distortion offering a sharp image even when zoomed in and allowing for much closer focusing than a traditional dome port.

The UWL-09 is lighter than the Pro version of the lens making it ideal for travel and well suited to smaller systems like the Canon G7X and Sony RX100 Camera series.
