Google announces 4 new Pixel Phones: Google Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL & 11 Pro Fold

Google's latest lineup of their Pixel Phones was announced last week — the Google Pixel 11, Google Pixel 11 Pro, Google Pixel 11 Pro XL and Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold.  Google claim their best Pixel cameras yet with big improvements to light sensitivity, powerful processing and new AI features.

Google Pixel 11 Series -New Features

Magic Capture

Brand new to the Pixel 11 series is Magic Capture which Google claims lets you "Capture the action without leaving the moment" to capture video and high quality photos all share ready with automatic cropping and blurring from one tap so you don't get distracted by your camera.  

Google also says that "results may vary" so it remains to be seen if this will truly be an aid to capture and it seems unlikely it will be a significant feature for underwater shooters.  

Camera Looks

Create your own distinct film styles on videos and unique photo aesthetics for stills.  We expect this will allow you to maintain consistent looks across your content.  

Divevolk Compatibility?

The new phones have just been announced but we will update the compatibility with Divevolk housings soon in a separate blog.  You can also view the Google Pixel compatibility list in the sheet below which will be kept up to date with the latest information. 

Previous generations of the Google Pixel Fold have not been compatible with Divevolk Housings and we expect this will probably be the case for the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold

smartphone ip68 rating

IP68 Waterproof Rating

For the new phone models Google have cited a waterproof rating of IP68 meaning that the phone is dustproof and protected against water immersion for a limited time at limited depth.

For those wary of putting a brand new phone into a dive housing this rating suggests that if you do get some water inside your housing your phone will likely be okay.

That being said, we always suggest that you get third party insurance for your phone and always back it up just in case!
